Renault Trucks
This project for Renault Trucks required a new resin floor in a busy workshop. The work to refurbish the floor of the large workshop was carried out over two weekends to minimise disruption to services provided by the workshop.
New colours and demarcation lines were added to separate walkways and inspection areas.
Preparation work for epoxy resin flooring
The preparation work for the workshop floor involves using a “Diamond Grinding” process to remove the unwanted material and also to help key the concrete surface ready for the next stage.
Once the grinding is complete and the floor swept clean, we are almost ready for the next stage.
Epxoy resin floor – primer sealing
The second stage of the process is to apply a resin primer. This helps identify any areas in need of repair, which typically are applied by hand using a trowel. The final part of this second stage is to re-abrade the floor, to provide a superior keyed surface in preparation for the top coat.
Epoxy resin flooring – application of the top coat
The final part of the process is to apply the resin flooring top coat. At this stage, we apply the various colours and demarcation lines for walkways and inspection pits.
In addition we provide advice on floor maintenance, including which solutions to use and how best to keep the floor in top condition.
To help reduce the risk of slips and trips, and as safety was a concern at the start of the project we also applied an anti-slip coating . This contributes to the improvement of safety at this site.
