As with all of our projects good preparation is an essential part of the refurbishment process, and this project for East Midlands airport was no exception. We begin by cleaning the floor and removing all of the unwanted materials such as dirt and grime, the old paintwork paint and oil stains.
A “Diamond Grinding” process was used to remove the material and also to help key the concrete surface ready for the next stage.
Then we begin the second stage of the process with the application of a resin primer, which helps to identify any areas in need of repair. Any repairs are then applied by hand using a trowel. To complete the second stage, we re-abrade the floor, to provide a superior keyed surface in preparation for the top coat.
