Five Ways Multiway
Another successfully completed ATF lane resin flooring refurbishment project for Five ways Multiway by Donnelly Flooring. This Testing Centre was in need of refurbishment and a new resin floor surface to update an existing floor. The markings around the inspection pit area required renewal as over time the existing markings were worn and faded.
The work was carried out over two consecutive weekends to minimise disruption to services provided by the test centre.
Preparation work for epoxy resin flooring
With all the work we undertake, good preparation is an essential part of the refurbishment process. The process starts by cleaning the floor and removing all unwanted material such as dirt and grime, the old paintwork paint and oil stains.
for this project we used a “Diamond Grinding” process to remove the material and also to help key the concrete surface ready for the next stage. This also involves grinding the existing demarcation lines.
Epoxy resin flooring – application of the top coat
The final part of the process is to apply the resin flooring top coat. After the first layer of the top coat is applied, we then apply the black colour around the inspection pit followed by the yellow colour. We also apply length markings to as a visual aid.
As for every project we also provide advice on floor maintenance, including which solutions to use and how best to keep the floor in top condition.
As safety was a concern at the start of the project, in this case we also applied an anti-slip coating to help reduce the risk of slips and trips, which in turn contributes to the improvement of safety at this site.
